In early 2020, Alison sent out a verse in the Genesis Dance Ministry chat from Luke 24:49 “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

I read it and I knew it was about my next season in my career. Indeed, the Lord sent me to Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) located in the city but I never quite knew the purpose.

Two years later nearing the end of my secondment, the Lord spoke again. He asked me if I am willing to stay in ECDA for a while more. I was willing. Another two years later, I had a job opening in Methodist Preschool Services (MPS) and it was like a dream come true as I always wanted to offer my services in a Methodist school. I was also thrilled at the thought of bringing the gospel to the children and their parents and just like first generation Christians like me, their future generations will be found in the Lord. 

It was not until when we were doing the Missions 2025 Bible study that I truly know what power I would be clothed with from on high.

In Lesson 4, we are referenced to Acts 1:8 ”Jesus promises his disciples that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, and they will be his witness in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” and the study asked us who are we called to be and where are we called to go. At that discussion, I realised that the power I received was so I will be His witness to these children in the preschool and the Lord has been preparing me for His work.

I was moved because God would use me for His work. The responsibility is huge but I know when God calls, I just need to bring the 5 loaves and 2 fishes, He will feed the 5,000.
