On My First Mission Trip with God

Matthew 5:12 came to mind during our mission trip to Rangsit, Thailand: “Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Our testimonial sharing with the youths reminded me of this verse. How they appreciated life’s little things! They began every sentence with thanksgiving to God. They wholeheartedly rejoicing in Him despite their troubles. This touched me and made me reflect on my own life. It reminded me to cherish life’s simple blessings.

Sharing my testimonial with the youths also allowed me to tell them how God had helped me through difficult times, reassuring them that He is always watching over us regardless of the circumstances we are in.

During Sunday service, I was deeply moved knowing that despite our language differences with the Thai people, we were all united in worshipping one God. During our group devotions, we could honestly share and reflect on how God guided us through each day’s activities, from painting to conducting English programmes. Whether the days felt long or short, everything was accomplished according to His timing. This first mission trip gave me profound insight into God’s love for people and how He journeys with each individual. May He continue to watch over them.

I’m especially thankful that I celebrated my 21st birthday with people I cherish in Pathum Thani.
