Our Life Group’s recent mission trip to Khon Kaen, Thailand was a journey filled with God’s love, provision, and divine appointments where we witnessed the remarkable ways God is working through His people.
One of the most inspiring parts of the trip was seeing the tireless dedication of Pastor Mook and Pastor Jut at Christ Methodist Church. Their love and passion for growing both the church and the childcare ministry deeply moved us. Despite facing significant challenges—such as Pastor Mook’s personal health struggles and the lack of suitable facilities before the current premises—they never wavered in their commitment. They persevered in faith, and God graciously met their every need.
We were also deeply encouraged by the team they’ve built around them. A group of young staff and volunteers, many of whom have been nurtured under the care and guidance of Pastors Mook and Jut, now serve with joy and a strong sense of belonging. It was heartwarming to see how this couple has become spiritual parents to many, creating a community that thrives on love, unity, and purpose.
God’s hand was evident throughout our trip. Though the weather forecast predicted thunderstorms, we experienced only one morning of light drizzle, which didn’t disrupt any of our planned activities. His protection and favour were clearly over us.
What made this trip even more meaningful was the strengthening of relationships within our own Life Group. We grew closer as we served together, prayed together, and shared in the joys and challenges of the mission field. We also had the privilege of seeing firsthand the wonderful work God is doing through the church in Khon Kaen, leaving us inspired and filled with gratitude.
Every mission trip I’ve joined has reminded me of how powerfully God works through local partners to touch lives—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This trip to Khon Kaen was no exception. Witnessing the love and commitment of Pastor Mook, Pastor Jut, and the entire church team renewed my own passion to support and uplift these faithful servants. Their example challenges and encourages me to do more, love more, and trust God more deeply in all things.

Back in Khon Kaen, we spent time with the church youth through English lessons, an emotional management workshop, and sports. Despite the language barrier, the Thais were eager to connect. I was amazed by how mature, relational and warm they were, despite their youth. The older teens led the worship ministry, and were like big brothers and sisters, carrying the younger ones in their arms. I still remember how T. opened her arms to hug the younger kids as they arrived, and how she and N, both below 18, shared the gospel with a roadside banana stall owner during a sudden downpour.
Though we came to serve, we received so much. I’m thankful for the friendships, hospitality (and amazing food!), and the reminder that we are one global church, called to love across cultures and borders.
